Why: U4 acceptance requires real-browser runs of the trace/audit
workspace; the repo had only a manual .playwright.ts stub gated on
PLAYWRIGHT_BASE_URL with no config, deps, or service wiring.
Evidence: config/deps/spec staged; full run driven by Dev-side
scripts/e2e.sh (seed-only smoke in progress in this task branch).
Impact: dev-only additions (@playwright/test devDep, preview proxy
segment, e2e/rdm-audit.playwright.ts); no production bundle changes.

Why: tsc -b writes tsconfig.tsbuildinfo into the worktree, which showed up as a dirty submodule during the paper-preview check.
Evidence: git status listed tsconfig.tsbuildinfo as untracked after npx tsc -b.
Impact: The artifact stays local. No runtime or preview behavior changes.

Why: the pre-commit/push mimosa hooks write .mimosa/hook-state inside
the work tree; untracked it marks the Dev superproject dirty
(precheck SHARED_WORKSPACE_BUSY) and blocks card-close gates.
Evidence: git status showed ?? .mimosa after commits; with the ignore
the superproject returns clean. No tracked files affected.
Impact: none at runtime; cache stays local.

Why: 642299d committed node_modules as a symlink pointing at the absolute
path /home/weichen/projects/Agent-System-Dev/modules/frontend/node_modules.
The .gitignore rule "node_modules/" only matches directories, not symlinks,
so the link slipped through and other clones would receive this machine's
path while normal installs get bypassed.
Evidence: git ls-tree HEAD node_modules => mode 120000 blob before this
commit; git check-ignore -v node_modules exits 0 with rule
".gitignore:2:node_modules" after unstaging the link.
Impact: fresh clones no longer carry a machine-specific symlink; local
installs work normally. No code changes.
